As I drew near to my last day at a job that I invested over two years and countless hours, I had only three days left and I heard in my spirit "Jesus gave notice."  At first, I chuckled a bit and went about my day thinking about the notice Jesus gave his disciples before he went to the cross and why He was telling them.  While Jesus himself says that he was telling them so they wouldn't lose heart or be afraid, for me, I also see this as a confirmation of how God works.  Jesus didn't rise from the grave as a surprise and go tell His disciples "I am so shocked!  Look at what my Father has done!"  No. God gave over 2,000 years' notice when Isaiah prophesied of his birth, and Psalms prophesied of His death.  Don't believe me? Look it up!

They had been waiting for Messiah and those who were taught scripture knew he was the Messiah as prophecy was fulfilled.  Jesus quotes Isaiah and reveals Himself to the Pharisees and the hate him for it.  Even with a notice of 2,000 years, the visual proof of healing, and raising the dead to life when Jesus hung on the cross, they still didn't understand.  Not until Jesus showed up like he said He would three days later.  Now, more than 2,000 years later, we have one more notice to look forward to.  Like His first coming, we wait for Him to come again.  We wait and hope that our time on earth adds souls to heaven.

At Youth for Christ, this is our one aim.  To show and tell young people through our expectant hope that Jesus is coming back. The enemy comes in many forms to kill our hope, steal our joy, destroy our hope through about who God, ourselves, and others.  Jesus came so that through Him we would have life in abundance.  This life is not the one we see on TV or social media, but the abundant inner life.  One that is given to us as a promise when we believe, confess, and live our relationship with God, ourselves, and others which is what we call "3 story."

Be blessed.
